TTF in App. browser
« on: July 31, 2009, 01:00:59 PM »
Hi Y'all!

Is there a way to get the app. browser to use ttf fonts? I would appreciate that very much since my eye-sight is failing quite a bit. TTF fonts are easier to read and if there would be a way to make the letters bigger that would be swell. Any hints are much appreciated.

Have fun with MC and TC,

All it would take, AFAIK, would be to compile fltk 1.1.9 with TTF support. I believe some members have done so successfully in the past.

If you wish to try yourself, compiletc, expat2 (plus -devs), fontconfig (plus -devs), and Xorg-7.4-dev extensions should be enough to do it. Afterwards it will depend on fontconfig and expat2.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.

Hi curaga!

Thanks for your response but I think it's quite a bit out of my league to try to do it myself but I'll give it some thought. Thanks for your response!

Have fun playing around with MC and TC Y'all,
