Problem using the forum
« on: July 17, 2021, 05:54:12 PM »
Hi all,

I have some problems using the forum: I cannot answer in some posts giving me back this error.
I tried to contact the e-mail address but my message returned back with error.
So, I have no other way to hope this post will reach the sysadmin.
 Thank you, R.

Most browsers keep the text, if you just press back.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.

I noticed that there are some words that if inserted in the text of the message make it impossible to post it, when I find them often inserting an underscore at its edges  all works, but if I make too many mistakes the entire forum server crashes, so I stopped making these attempts.

Hi vinnie

If you trigger the forum error too many times in too short a time period, the forum will lock you out for an hour or two.
It's happened to me a couple of times.

ok, it happened to me twice, I don't know if it's a coincidence, but I couldn't even see the forum, it just seemed like the server crashed.

Hi vinnie
I couldn't see the forum either. Not even from another machine as a guest. Checking  isitdownrightnow.com  showed
that  forum.tinycorelinux.net  was up.

Hm.. wondering if it is browser triggered?  Got the server error for the first time.

I just installed Opera-12 on TinyCorePure64 (thanks to op pek tip), which is pretty ancient.  Maybe there's something there.  If this fails, I'll switch to another device.

Update: it works so looks like not Opera triggered the confusion.  This is just a reply and modify.  Will try on a new post later.

Hi PDP-8
It seems to be caused by certain words at certain times. There also seems to be a certain amount of randomness to
it, like when you use an uninitialized variable in a program. Or when using an overly complex algorithm that employs
some form of AI (Artificial Ignorance).

Some may read the above paragraph and say:
Quote
Rich, you're being paranoid, overly dramatic, or just plain crazy!

Fair enough. Then riddle me this, why can I post this here without a problem:
Code: [Select]
sudo -u `cat /etc/sysconfig/tcuser`
Yet I had to alter the word  cat  in this post to get rid of the Forum Error message:

Yeah, I figured as much, so you aren't being paranoid and I know what set of words triggered it here.

Had this been a forum for pottery makers, the subject and some technical details I used would definitely be suspect!

No problem.  Big thanks to whomever is hosting this.

good to know - I locked out my home IP and am replying via my cell's hotspot - I was worried I was banned trying too many times to succeed in posting..
