0install needs the ocaml compiler, several ocaml libs and the opam package manager - all it would do is add tens of mb of bloat.

I still haven't been a full time linux user yet.
In this respect, many linux terms and technical terms still seem foreign to me.
when I read them on translation; like a very complex puzzle,

I'm still a stranger to the linux world.
TCL's weakest point; application catalog,

I've read about dependency files problem a lot,
here ; when i make a request
Because of their addictive problems,
I still cannot easily access the applications I want in the standard sense.

Maybe I'll just try it once or I will try for 1 minute and never use it,
I want to try thousands of linux applications.
and I need an application catalog download program for this job.
this is a discovery, this is an experience; but the most exciting way to learn,

dcore is like a good alternative, but; It doesn't look as good as TCL. :)

0install needs the ocaml compiler, several ocaml libs and the opam package manager - all it would do is add tens of mb of bloat.

Rather than requesting tinycore users to donate what might be hours of their time to build, package and submit an extension that you requested, in order that you might use it for one minute, please change to a different linux distribution.

Hi xor
... I want to try thousands of linux applications. ...
It is good to have goals in life.
Here is a plan to help you achieve your goal:
Code: [Select]
1. Stop using Google translate.
 2. Join a Linux forum that is written in your native language.
 3. Learn how to compile and package programs.
 4. Spend a few hours building a program.
 5. Try the program for 1 minute.
 6. Delete the program.
 7. Spend a few hours building another program.
 8. Try the program for 1 minute.
 9. Delete the program.
10. Go to step number 7.
Do you think this is too much work so you can use a program once for 1 minute?
Then switch to a Linux distribution that has all of the programs you want to try once.

Start with steps 1, 2, and 3.

my goal is not to be opposition,
some cultural indigenous languages and expressions cannot be translated correctly.
The phrase "to use 1 min" is a symbolic expression.

I find the tcl.tcz file package system efficient.
but I can't say the app store is big enough.
I can't say when I find everything I want

philosophically linux tries to create a unix utopia.
and in itself; it gets stuck at a philosophical crossroads.

this is not just for one linux distribution!
this is a way all linux distributions are blocking themselves!
a truly free linux; it should not be dependent on a single format.

You are welcome to stay with tinycore, but if you would like to see more extensions made available, you will need to start to contribute.

I think I solved the biggest problem theoretically (I do :)

https://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-multiboot-usb-creator/

with multiple boot options at boot
create a usb or sd card
logic; u in fat 32 format
1.iso (TCL)
2.iso (dcore)
Define TCE configuration to the same drive :)
so 3 in one :)

start with dcore;
Download the application that is not in the TCL library with dcore!
then take over the application with TCL!

In this way, applications that are not in the TCL library
run without package format issue.

I haven't had the opportunity to try yet.

Hello forum,

can i throw in my 2 cents worth.....?

i mean with a good Web browser over TCL one can just dial into third
party servers and platforms to just run and install any software on earth you like....

indeed (chocolatey) has some 8000 free packages for win platforms

........then appimages of which will run on any ubuntu flavor of distro you have.
(there are a couple of thousand listed here recently (free)

it one is to ask around, maybe forum members direct users to free server platforms.

there are services such as Rollapp?.....Saas  (softwares as services FREE)

true, the ability for flexibility is desirable
(that's near 10,000 free apps....which should do......)

thx

TCL philosophy and facts :) Re: Zero Install
« Reply #9 on: December 14, 2020, 01:41:21 AM »
a philosophy of microsoft; it was the thought of a computer to every home.

philosophy of unix!? linux philosophy!? sony's philosophy!? ibm's philosophy!? apple's philosophy!?

A goal of all and a slogan that is compatible with this goal can be called philosophy.

users have a single philosophy; comfort :)

versions are not updated just because new kernel has arrived!
when new compilers appear;
Since it closes previous compile errors,
and that is why almost all applications have to update.
this situation creates an infinite loop.

TCL philosophy and facts :)
There is a lot of work to be done and it is obvious that there is very little manpower! :)

If there is a lot of work to do and very few people to do business;
Then an automation is required.

sce2tce = dcore(apps).sce >> tcl(apps).tcz

A script should be created for this.

A script should be created for this.
We look forward to your script.
