How to run 'lshal'?

I need to run 'lshal' from my pendrive. But didn't found hal in available modules. What can I do?

Hi,

I'm just working on to add HAL to TC. Actually there are some missing dependencies, old versions, etc. but will come as it is needed for my applications, including Xfce4.

I will post it for testing soon, hopefully.

You are right, there are many dependencies which also depend on the HAL version. This is good to use latest version, however PolicyKit and ConsoleKit must be disabled because of their dependencies and do not give real benefits in a TC environment. As soon as you disable it situations looks much better. If you are stepping back few versions you can keep many actual elements as well, I think.

Another issue is udev for example which doesn't fit correctly to HAL.

Anyhow, we need HAL for many reasons at least available as an extension and TC/MC base must have the necessary components to build HAL on them.

Let me play a bit with HAL and see the outcome. I need to support features in Xfce4.

  I just got HAL 0.5.12 compiled succesfuly on top of TC 2.1

Of course need testing to see whether it works or not. But at least some success!

Not yet. It must be tested inhouse before I can give it out for testing. Still the daemon do not starts due to missing directories, files, ownerships, etc.

Please be a patient a while

To run lshal requires HAL daemon itself up and running properly. If it is done, lshal works for sure. If daemon is not running, lshal dies with a message..

I have a task to build small livecd distro supporting such function and terms are near to be up

Why do you need lshal?

I need to run a script from livecd. It contains 'lshal', 'lsusb', 'lspci', etc and generates a logfile with predefined structure.

New version of HAL is submitted with today's date. Now it works as expected, including lshal.
