Porteus - another fine *release candidate* for us ram/persistence types has been released.
I'm not saying Porteus is better or worse than *core. Just different. A lot of devs hard at work just like here.
X86-64 only. Boot fine on uefi-only machines. xzm package manager. USM from other fine slackware repos has turned somewhat problematic so don't know if that will stay functional or not.
Stays somewhat small since no browser (other than dillo for docs), or office software included. Put those in if you need, and system grows.
Installation is interesting - mount or otherwise open the iso. Install docs show use from simple dd like a read-only cd, (where you'll want to set up persistence elsewhere) or you can run the included .exe file from windows, or use the shell-script from *nix to make the stick fully-writable. All 3 ways have worked fine for me.
