Having an archive of extentions from a Tiny Core release has certain advantages. For example, anyone could use the release versions of extentions to reproduce the same Tiny Core installation version for version, feature for feature, and even bug by bug. Reproducability in general seems advantageous, but it is also a paradigm shift and thus is non trivial to achieve. It requires, for example, keeping around older versions of software, which not everyone sees value in. I can understand why the release extention archives weren't kept around for future releases.
