Encrypt Full Hard Drive or Home Folder Like Ubuntu

I am using tinycore 4.7.7. Is there any way to Encrypt Full Hard Drive or Home Folder Like Ubuntu. Basically i need when my system is going off or shutdown my data is encrypted and when system on then my persistence home folder Decrypt .

hi malikawan,

perhaps a luks-encrypted container-file could provide you some features that you are looking for.
the encrypted "file system" is mounted over a directory and you can use a nice link in your home-dir..
for that approach you can open the container only when it is needed or you open it at every reboot.
this could be a secure way to encrypt data in a safe way.

If i create 2 partitions one Partition Encryption with LUKS and i have place home folder and tce folder in it and in other partition i placed boot folder then how i link home and tce folder after decryption in extlnux.conf file.

I have created 2 partition one is encrypted and set up partitions LVM on LUKS and other partition is ext2 for grub install. After that i am confused how to configure with tinycore to decrypt the encrypted patition. Please if any oe help regarding this.

hi malikawan,

i recommend you a luks-encrypted container-file.
thats very handy... you can copy and move this file wherever you want.
... and you can decrypt and open the file just for needed purposes, in other cases it stays encrpted.
just search for "luks encrypted file" in the web and you will find many howtos.
