Hello tcl,
could you recommend a dirt cheap wi fi dongle (and mention the chip model in it) which will work directly ouf of the box with TCL via the desktop wi fi icon in tcl and connect it to public wi fi

I've never used a wifi dongle, but you should try to use one with hardware natively supported by linux - atheros, intel or similar - and not something reverse engineered - broadcom or similar.
