how do I get XFCE desktop and thunar file manager installed
leon8200:
thanx for the help, I tried to get desmume "a nintendo ds emulator" to run, it opened but when I tried to load a rom it failed saying it could not load it, maybe a permission issue? I tried running it in the terminal "sudo + the file path' and the terminal could not find the path, my emulator is on another HDD so maybe a HDD permission issue? I dont know anything about tiny core :-\

You might also want to take the time to check this out:

It's a fast and easy read and well worth your time.

I don't think this OS is for me I dont have hours to sit and read and play with it, Ive already dedicated over 2 month's of my time trying to learn linux and got nowhere but a headache, I just don't have any patience left for it, I have always spent a few hours reading and playing with linux trying to get it to do the things I want it to do before I ask for help at a forum, but I just can't think anymore, my brain just shuts down when I try to read and learn, I'll have to check that out some other time, I'll bookmark it, thanx

I don't know how to get "any" desktop installed, can someone please provide me with explicit instructions on what I need to do in order for tiny core plus to do the following
1 drag files to and from the desktop
2 place application shortcuts on the desktop
3 HAVE A DESKTOP!!!
please anyone???

There are file managers that have a desktop feature (f.e. pcmanfm, rox, nautilus) where you can drag things around. You would certainly have to configure it to play nicely with Tiny Core though.
For simple icons I'm using iDesk.
