I've wondered about this as well. Great video screen capture to me means a program like camtasia which would be very heavy for tinycore. So this is why I have spent considerable time getting remote desktop to exactly reproduce the tinycore desktop. I can have a remote desktop window open on one of my other computers with camtasia running and can record the "live" desktop along with audio (voice over or music) and do subsequent editing as required. I have made quite a few training videos on various subjects but I'm still in training myself regarding tinycore. I have the platform ready now I just have to get the content straight.

For capturing via VNC:

For desktop capture, I have sometimes used xwd in a loop ;) but it tends to be heavy. The VNC tools should be the lightest on cpu power, but VNC often can't transmit 30fps.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.

Video capture for "movies" with audio and video is a whole different problem than capturing desktop program operations. I would agree VNC may not work well for this purpose unless you have a high end system. Especially if the entire screen is being captured. I use tightvnc as the server and have been pleased with the results.

I compiled and submitted recordmydesktop, it uses OSS for sound.
I am trying to get the gtk version to compile, but it may require more resources then you would like (pygtk)
