A gthumb extension would be nice (if it does not pull in too much dependencies (?) - i'm not a gnome fan, but i use this program which slackware running a fluxbox based desktop environment and it does not seem so).

PS. Is there eventually (but not gimp! ;) ) another size reducing imageviewer among the extensions?

I use it, since a long time (i knew it when crunchbang came up :D ). It's really nice, but it does not image reducing (only size reduction). So, to reduce the size i've to use gimp (which is an overkill).

You mean scaling? Use mtpaint.

ImageMagick or GraphicsMagick can do that too.

Thanks!!! I'll look into them too and take the smallest one, which does the job (i vaguely remember there is/was one imageviewer which came with some scripts -for editing - relying on ImageMagick ... ??).
