Title:
5 year remaster still using v3.52 and going strong
Description:
In March 2010 swearing to dump my Microsoft Marriage for some 25 years
after trying 2 dozen distros TC was the one that delivered speed, reliability,
granularity and when I crashed my laptop with other distros TC installed
and repaired the mess quickly. Being darn near the fasted performer with
a fat repo it formed the basis of Pocket Rocket Linux - basically a Firefox
desktop menu system. Over the years its been fine tuned and still
runs on TC v3.52. I've tinkered with newer releases but Sovolli's old
GRAB NTFS ON BOOT philosophy made that release a favorite with
my clients.
Still wrestling with WIndows Users attempting to create a bootable
USB while arm wrestling with various MS and 3rd party security
suites, I decided to reconsider the ever present TC wikis on
ISO installs as well as creating an ISO and USB installer I
wrote in C that unpacks and copies everything to a newly
created bootable USB in a Windows environment; a real
challenge getting either GRUB4DOS or SYSLINUX to
write the boot sector stops User's cold.
For other folks wrestling with TC installers that work
in Windows I'd love to swap war stories.
