Microcore_2.0 needs reboot to load desktop properly on USB
« on: June 09, 2009, 08:16:47 AM »
 ;)
Alright, loving Microcore_2.0 and having fun!
Noticed a few minor issues; maybe more my fault tham micro's:)

First- I put microcore kernel/initrd in /sda1/boot/mc/
My menu.lst for usb microcore and tc_2.0

Code: [Select]
title TinyCore_2.0-USB-MicroCore
kernel /boot/mc/bzImage quiet microcore desktop=jwm restore=sda1/tce tce=sda1 waitusb=5
initrd /boot/mc/microcore.gz

OK, don't beat me down!
I know, I shouldn't have to tell MC "desktop=jwm restore=sda1/tce"
But, if I don't use the bootcodes I get a blackscreen, a X pointer, and  no apps!

Also, I noticed on both my desktop PC's micro would boot, but even with the bootcodes above, I would get a blackscreen, X pointer, and no apps.
After rebooting everything loaded fine?!

So, for me, I must reboot Once, then after that everything works fine; and I must use the bootcodes.

This is not a complaint; as TC/MC rock the Kazba-I'm jammin Metallica  "Dyer's Eve" on aol radio now while punching this out. ::)

Just trying to perfect it before putiting TC/MC_2.0-USB on my site.
I have noticed that the core-elements, teamed with firefox-tcz/xmms-tcz/xfe-tcz offer a big improvment in speed and performance while punishing my 1GB RAM by playing multiplre instances of firefox, plus aol radio, plus qemu banging Portable-Tinycore_2.0, plus palying with gimp2 and opening all other apps too!

The other day I did the same with tc-1.4.3 and got a lock-up! zzziit!BANG!

Anyway, so I'm digging Micro and how can I fix my isues?
Thanks.
