Installing tc to hd 'ala DSL-2HD meaning as hd-install
« on: June 08, 2009, 06:51:33 PM »
 ;D
OK, I want to do a STATIC hd install with 1.4.3
Meaning de-compressing tinycore.gz into hda1, copying over boot folder, installing grub, etc.

I understand I would have to upgrade pkgs manually and this would be the system rot way, but just curious.
How would I do this, or can tc be installed like dsl debian-hd install?

thanks

Thank you, sir.
I did get it working after editing mtab and fstab; now I'll go read what you suggested.

For reference; I am wanting to do the "scatter" hd install to a qemu portable-vhd.
Tc 2.0 works great running from vhd via portable-qemu; however there is no kqemu, so to lighten RAM
load I thought hd-install would be ideal, as DSL-2-HD install to vhd resulted in very low ram and nice performance vs frugal-install to hd.
You may compare for yourself-
and some nice TC stuff here too-
You will note the "flavors" are qemu-img vhd's filled with tce's, mountable by TC.

I am gonna redo my site and clean up alot as I am going to concentrate on TC even more than my multidistro stuff.
Tinycore just rocks
