Beaver is available in the prebuilt section now.  It is the package from the Core repo.

I wonder if you should ask Debian to package them? (or Ubuntu, or whichever dCore you're using)
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.

What browser, pdf reader?  If it is a gtk1 app, gtk1 has been dropped by every distro except for Slackware (to keep XMMS) so gtk1 package requests would certainly not be accepted by Debian.

JLS - Please request packages by the upstream package name.  I will create a thread for that.  And custom prebuilt packages on dCore not available from a Debian repo will be built on dCore.

Thanks Juanito.  And Curaga is the upstream author of Fifth and Flax I see.  :-)  I still had my mind on the old gtk1 apps in the repo.   And being available for Debian would definitely be a plus.

Attempted a build of Fifth on dCore, the FLTK version 1.3 that is needed is newer than the libfltk-1.3 that is available even in Debian Sid.  Debian's hyper-stable nature - even in it's "unstable" repo - is good in many ways but sometimes does not have the newer things needed by new cutting edge apps.  I could add a custom build of FLTK-1.3 though libfltk-1.3 is in Debian, but the point of dCore is using Debian packages  unless those packages are not there.

I would like to see Fifth (and Flax) in dCore but for now I will wait until the FLTK and other offerings in Debian intersect with the needs of those apps instead of usurping Debian's package offerings with custom library builds that may break other Debian packages.
