[Solved] Dual boot Windows 7 & Tiny Core

Hi all,

I'm trying to install Tiny Core alongside with windows 7 using easybsd

*Windows 7 was already installed
*shrink windows 7 partition and created 20GB ext4 partition
*installed Tiny Core to ext4 partition

Tried every option i can think of in easybsd but i cant make it work

what should i do in order to dual boot menu to automatically select Tiny Core after 5 seconds and actually boot to it?

You appear to have a gpt hd and uefi boot, which means you need to use corepure64 as your system uefi is almost certainly 64bit.

If you search these forums on (u)efi boot you'll find an explanation on how to set things up to uefi boot corepure64

Is there any guide on how to install tiny core alongside with existing windows 7 (GPT)?

What exactly i should do? where should i start?

I've never seen the windows uefi boot manager, but hopefully you can add an additional boot entry to it.

Create a folder named "boot" in the root of your ext4 partition and copy the corepure64 boot files rootfs64.gz, modules64.gz and vmlinuz64 into it. Hopefully you can then add a boot entry analagous to the grub2-efi ones in the threads in these forums.

I found a solution that worked for me

*i used IDE not AHCI
1. gparted an hdd prior to any installation (used the full capacity of the disk otherwise win7 will create a boot partition)
    sda1 - linux ext4
    sda2 - windows 7 ntfs
2. installed windows 7 to ntfs
3. installed tiny core to ext4

works great now.
