Here is what I have found with the current ppa:niko2040/e19 version of Enlightenment. In dCore-trusty and dCore-bionic64, when a USB device is simply plugged in, a USB icon appears on the desktop. When a cdrom is inserted and mounted, an icon does not appear. I am assuming that as the cdrom icon was fixed and working in dCore in the past, the cdrom icon was working when dCore-trusty was the current Ubuntu based dCore when the then current version of Enlightenment was being used.
Today on a hard drive install of Ubuntu Bionic64, when Enlightenment is installed from this PPA, a USB icon does not appear when the USB is inserted and not when mounted. Also, a cdrom icon does not appear when a CD is inserted or mounted.
Perhaps as the cdrom is a legacy media format, maybe it is not being supported in regards to icons with the current version of Enlightenment offered by that PPA.
