New computers
http://liliputing.com/2014/01/msi-j1800i-bay-trail-board-cpu-combo-just-60.html
These are a powerful low cost PC for "windows" or "Linux" or "android" or "Chromium OS" or all 4.
They will feature a quad core "2 ghz per core chip" with advanced graphics capability. They only use tiny amounts of power so no
fans are needed. They are powered by a power brick and the nano
power connector off of ebay.com (completely "no moving parts machine" using almost no power or heat or noise)
A machine with 4 or 8 gigs of RAM and a "chips only SSD hard drive" will cost about 180 dollars to assemble in 30 mins.
You are getting 7.5 ghz of power on single computing tasks if using any tool
which is multi core. (such as art and music tools). The spare half ghz will run the OS and the graphics of the machine. (Approx)
Ofcourse, you could, if desired, put 2 or 3 or more of these machines inside a box and link them with network cables. This would give you over 20ghz of power on single tasks inside any tools that sport "CPU sharing".

here's the kit and you can actually do the "quad core machine" for less than that....about 160 usa dollars NEW by using just a 256 gig SSD and other less expensive parts. (all NEW ofcourse.)
shipping may bring it to 180 usa dollars NEW
please don't remove links here as they serve only in the context of the topic here. Thanks.

Hello
yes
A friend also told me about the new Zotac computers which are liktely to be just abouy 119 us dollars new.
They contain a 1.2 ghz freescale quad cpu with DUAL vivante GPU and 1 gig of ram and 8 gig SSD
http://liliputing.com/2014/01/zotac-launch-mini-pcs-arm-chips-android-ubuntu-150.html
they come with Ubuntu Linux or Android 4.2 Jelly.
Also my friend was saying a very very good performance computer is the intel i5 4670 (quad core chip) with up to 3.8 ghz per core in turbo. That chip is about 200 dollars and then the SSD and
motherboard and RAM and case .........take it all to about 400 dollars for a very very powerful new computer.
many thanks for leaving the links here. They serve only to explain the message
Vince.
