Is there a textbase appbrowser?
« on: November 20, 2013, 06:36:37 PM »
I just want to use TC in a text mode. But I cannot find the way to install the extension in text mode. Any suggestion? Thanks!

tce-load
tce-ab
tce-audit

ls /usr/bin/tce*

Most of these applications will give help if called with no arguments.

After you install the right packages (above?), just type "ab" and the text app browser fires up....

There are no such program as 'ab' in TC. It was renamed a long time ago to resolve name conflict with Apache.

For other TC-newbie (as me):

$ tce-load -w -i openssh.tcz
/usr/bin/tce-load: line 204: can't create /tmp/appserr: Permission denied

$ sudo tce-load -w -i openssh.tcz
Password:
Don't run this as root.

I have to run the command after 'su tc'

This command should run with user privileges not as root.

If you boot using the "base norestore" codes do you see the same error?

Hi there: There is a linux cli browser named Lynx?
In one of the TCL repos is a links-cli.tcz please check and let me know. More linux CLI browsers: Netrick,dwb, xxxterm not sure bit please check?

The closest thing to a CLI browser in TCL 5 is Dillo.
But please take note; All this "small" browsers do not support active content, no frames almost no nothing. Websites like yahoo, even webmail clients require Javacsript and other active stuff. So a CLI browsers only gives you limited use of the web.
t(w)o be(ers) or not t(w)o be(ers) that is the question
