rdesktop on raspberrypi
« on: December 19, 2013, 09:24:22 AM »
Hi,

I made a ThinClient with one PIII with 256 MB and tinycore 3.8 to access to windows server and works fine but now I want to try with raspberrypi.

It's possible to add rdesktop.tcz to picore image?

Thanks

Sergio

It is in the 5.x repo, see attached picture.

Possible reasons why it is not seen:

1) You are usin piCore 4.x

2) You are using a mirror repo and it is not yet synced to master repo.tinycorelinux.net

3) Your local repo cache files not updated

Hi bmarkus,

Yes, I'm using the picore latest version that have on http://tinycorelinux.net/4.x/armv6/piCore-20130331.img.gz
I'll try now with piCore-5.1.rc3.img, it's stable?

grub and xvesa work on the pi? News to me.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.

ARM boot is different than X86 I think. There are multi boot utilities for android on ARM available. (google)
If somebody had the time to explain the different boot techniques  - that would be helpful.
t(w)o be(ers) or not t(w)o be(ers) that is the question

If you mean Xdialog, it requiers Gtk1 which is not in the repo and no plan to add. Of course user contribution welcome.

yes, it's Xdialog

I have used this solution on x86 and xdialog, grub, xveza, rdesktop were the necessary programs to run on x86 and wanted to apply them in raspberrypi.

Do you have something similiar to Xdialogz? I need a menu like I have in the picture.

Thanks

I have no knowledge of how to compile but I can try. What tools should I use to try to do.

I use packages from pidora (pidora.ca/pidora/releases/19/packages/armv6hl/os/Packages)
For package using tcz-tools (code.google.com/p/tcztools) packages to tcz (tcz-pack).
No problem to use xdialog, freerdp, freerdp-libs, freerdp-plugins, jwm ..
