Firefox installation missing lib
« on: December 09, 2013, 03:31:01 PM »
Installed TC5 today from scratch + Firefox extension. Tried it several times....

Result:
XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /tmp/tcloop/firefox/usr/local/firefox/libxpcom.so:
libxul.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Couldn't load XPCOM.

Any suggestions?

I'm not sure what you mean by "Installed TC5 today from scratch".

I just installed firefox.tcz using Apps, and firefox started right up.

From scratch? This means clean install. Take a new VM & install TC 5 on empty HDD.

Problem No.2

The installer hangs some times. No idea why, i click some buttons in the window and the apps window stops to react and i can not close the apps window. Also kill doesnt work here. -> Restart

Problem No.3

Installer hangs during install of firefox. It starts with checking deps and writes ok at each check. After some ok it hangs. I press control + c and proceed to start again to install and it continues....The downloads starts....after some packages it hangs again. I am practically not able to install the entire package in one run. It finished with ok in apps window. The result is well known.

I have also tried to install via command line in terminal to exclude the installer.  But also here interrupts, interrupts, interrupts.

There are absolute no internet connection problems. I can ping google the entire time during install.

Sounds like a VM issue.
Try it on real iron.

Hangs in Apps and tce-load sound like network issues indeed. Perhaps try another mirror, or instead of google try downloading a file from the mirror you're using.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.

Have a real 10Mbit connection and usually no problems with my internet connection.

Tried TC 4.7.7 and it hangs also, but after the entire ctrl+c & install again story i can start Fx 17 at the end.

With current iso and Fx21 i got the mentioned lib error.
