Compaq nc4400
« on: November 23, 2013, 06:15:23 AM »
I had problems on getting my wifi working on Compaq nc4400 with Tiny Core Linux (and with other distros too) but after a creative pause I started my laptop today and found out that my wifi works straight from the boot!

So, whats up? has someone updated some legacy wifi drivers support on Tiny Core or is this some kind of mystery that has been an issue for many legacy wifi users with this model?

PS.  Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG [Golan] Network Connection (rev 02)

PSS...Please ease on the human user verifications I had some hard time to register on this forum...

I have a netbook that acts one way on boot and another on reset. The hardware just responds differently between the two. My wifi is Broadcom, though.

FWIW, when I'm debugging my wireless, the order I load extensions matters, too. The firmware ext must be loaded before wireless tools.

That's correct - the firmware needs to be loaded before the kernel module (driver).
