posibly also use of iso=sdX/tc.iso ? results in mount
previously you could (from *some bootloader)
mount iso from disk
and not need "iso=" option
or to have anything mounted after kernel and core ...
because wbar ect was included / loaded at boot and not mounted from tcz
however this changed some time in 4x

The CorePlus ISO does not load the included extensions to RAM as it would mean greatly higher HW requirements for that build. TinyCore does, and Core does not have any extensions on the cd.
The CorePlus change is not exclusive to 5.x IIRC, but already applied in the latest 4.x releases too. If you requre it to load to RAM, you can remaster your ISO.

FWIW and as indicated on the website, CorePlus is only intended to be an installation CD and not a live CD.
