Sun-jdk.tcz setup problem
« on: April 06, 2013, 10:16:06 PM »
1) I loaded sun-jdk6 and sun-jre thru onboot. It complained abt libjli.so not found, I symlinked to /usr/lib, then it complained abt some symbol JLI_MemAlloc etc not defined error, and no known VMs check for corrupt jvm.cfg file message.
2) Open-jdk is running fine on my box.
3) The box is TC3.5 128MB RAM with enough HDD space. Is it a less memory problem or else. Kindly help.
Thanks.

Thanks, ooseven, my problem is not abt java or flash plug-ins. All my plug-ins are working fine with Seamonkey for a long time ago.
My problem is compiling and exewcuting .java files ( java programs ) from command prompt.
Any how I am successfully using openjdk to do so ( without Sun-java specific features ) off-course !
By the way, I also use  Knoppix for compiling some  .java files ( gcj feature )...
Thanks anyhow !

Since you may be talking "Sun" Java here, maybe you have read?
http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,12431.0.html

I infer that means if you believe you need java kit, java runtime or java plugins, change the name to suit,
then you may need to download and build it your self.

and so you may like to look at
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/view/svn/xsoft/icedtea-web.html

good luck

Thanks aus9,
Though I had not read the links given by you, but I know Orcle has stopped Sun-Java support, but since Sun-java.tcz is still available in tcl3.5 repo, I was trying to install it. If it is available, then has anybody used it and successfully installed i.e. Sun-jdk.tcz previously? If yes, then how ? Presently I have been using only Open-jdk.tcz.
