(Solved) In-Situ upgrade of TinyCore
« on: June 16, 2013, 10:32:46 PM »
Can someone please point me to the destructions on how to upgrade from 2.6.33.3 to current release.

I have a problem doing an A10 arm upgrade (separate issue) but my current x86 setup is too old (somewhat like me actually).

I did a(numerous) search(s) but couldn't find it.

Cheers.

Hi athouston
I think your best bet is to do a new install. When I had to convert one of my machines from TC3.x to TC4.x I created
an empty partition on my drive and installed to that. Then installed the 4.x versions of the extensions I needed and
copied my persistent /home and /opt to the new partition. And finally, added a new entry to my grub menu.lst.

Hi Rich, thanks for that. I suspected as much.

I am running from a 2GB CF card on an IDE adapter so I don't have a lot of room.

I'll just slip down the street and get another CF card.

Cheers.
