Using FLIT in another distro
« on: June 28, 2013, 03:55:49 AM »
Hi All,

I have been trying to use FLIT in Antix on an eeepc 2g.

I have got it compiled, but don't now how to use FLIT.TCZ
I've tried mounting it with no success.

How do I use FLIT.TCZ directly or is there a way to extract FLIT and install it in a more traditional way?

Have also tried using unsquashfs and get a FLIT.DESKTOP file and a help file, but still can't get it to run.

Kindest regards
James

If all you’ve got when unsquashing FLIT.TCZ is a desktop file and a help file, then for sure this is not the real extension, or it is broken. You should also have /usr/local/bin/flit.
Try running “tce-install -il /path/to/FLIT.TCZ”.

Hi jrm7262
What error messages do get  if you enter  flit  in a terminal?
I suspect you are missing the libraries from  fltk-1.1.10.tcz  at the very least.

Thank you YinYeti & Rich,

It seems I had both problems you suggested.

I re-downloaded flit.tcz and when I unsquashed it got /usr/local/bin/flit
Then when running flit I had a missing jpeg library.
I installed the library and now have flit running in Antix.
It doesn't seem to show the correct battery state, but that's another issue.

Thanks again guys.

Kindest regards
James
