nautilus as file manager in TCL 4.7.7 - some problems
« on: June 10, 2013, 02:04:39 PM »
HI: I just managed to create a nice working CorePlus bootable USB stick, It works lightning fast and I decided to install the nautilus (gnome based) file manager. I like it because it allows to connect to servers from the file menu.
After I installed it, there was no icon in my task bar but I was able to start nautilus from the application-click on the desktop as FileManager. It starts and the screen goes dark. I see icons from all my partitions (they were all  mounted by Nautilus) I was not able to go back to my original TCL desktop. After playing around for a while I discovered that CTRL ALT M does the trick and changes the size of the Nautilus FileManager window. By mousing around on the screen I was able to see the wbar icons. The wallpaper was not visible. I changed the wallpaper and everything looked good. BUT after reboot the same problem happened.
Here is where I am kindly asking for help:
How can I make the size of the Nautilus window smaller / permanently?
How can I keep my desktop when starting Nautilus?
thanks for help
