musl versus libc, toybox versus busybox?
« on: March 23, 2013, 06:26:38 PM »
Hi, could you have a look at http://landley.net/aboriginal ?
It is about a move to a new small C library, and a new small busybox replacment.
it is still work in progress, but it is the spirit of minimal kernel, library, and shell, same as (Tiny)core goal.

Musl still has incompatibilities, and toybox lacks a lot of busybox features. These would prevent using them in TC. IIRC musl has been discussed before here.

IMHO toybox was started for the wrong reasons (licence, to avoid the GPL).
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.
