HDMI console display cropped on Cubieboard
bpa:
Microcore on a Cubieboard (A10 processor) 1GB.
Using HDMI display - the console output is cropped by about 4 chars on lefth and top and bottom lines. Change display mode in script.bin changes how much is cropped but somethign is always cropped. HDMI overscan does not help. Linaro works OK on same setup.
I haven't found any script.fex setting that works. Is this "normal" or is it a cubieboard issue ?
roberts:
Console, i.e., currently bterm works fine on a Cubie 512 machine using stock image. Have you tried the stock (Mele) image from download area? I know it would only see 512 but at least it might help determine next step to try. I do intend to rebuild to newer kernel to drop bterm and also plan to support sata. Cubie board looks promising.
bpa:
I used the a10Core-20130123.img which I presumed was stock.
When booting the 1Gb Cubie with this not only was the image cropped (on 1080p60 about 4 chars on left and 1 line on bottom) but video did not always appear but restor of system was running. Changing script.bin (e.g. 720p50) usually resulted in more screen being cropped.
When I upgraded the uboot etc for 1Gb - boot was reliable, system saw 1Gb ram and video appeared every time although stiull cropped.
Are you using a TV or monitor for HDMI output ?
roberts:
Using TV HDMI
No problem.
Sorry, don't have DVI monitor to try.
bpa:
Thanks for the reply.
I have the problem with a Panasonic TV HDMI.
