I'm getting the following error when I load the vmxnet driver in a VMplayer 5 VM on a Slackware 14 host:
VMware vmxnet virtual NIC driver
vmxnet 0000:02:01.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 19 (level, low) -> IRQ 19
Found vmxnet/PCI at 0x2024, irq 19.
features:
numRxBuffers = 100, numRxBuffers2 = 1
vmxnet 0000:02:01.0: eth0: set_features() failed (-1); wanted 0x00004000, left 0x00004800
It seems to be working OK anyway, so maybe it's just info/cosmetic? Has anyone else seen this and know how to fix it? Yes, pcnet32 is blacklisted.
FWIW, I've managed to get the VMware client tools set up as an extension. It's kinda fat at 16 megs. Copy/paste text to/from host/client works with both the vmblock and fuse modules, though fuse seems to be more reliable. HGFS (mounting host directories in the guest TC file system), mouse autograb/autorelease, and changing the video resolution on the fly by resizing the guest window also work. If anyone's interested.
