openssh in services on control panel not synchronised with sshd

can't seem to get the control panel services interface working with openssh... on a clean 4.7 install.
seems to works fine when started manually and in bootlocal.sh...
is there a script I can check to see what's up?

The control panel / services / openssh button has trouble because the start/stop script for openssh lacks the "status" functionality.  See this thread:
