« on: June 08, 2012, 12:57:40 AM »
with the 4.5.4 coreplus iso the mc program won't
start from menu.  with the 4.5.3 iso it did.   both
versions, tcz and scm.   it will start from terminal
with sudo mc.

Hi patrick013

You should not need  sudo  to run  mc. Does it start without sudo?

Installing mc.tcz mc starts fine as expected on a clean TC 4.5.4 clicking icon on WBAR.

Yes, further info here.    The mc.scm won't start from menu.   Uninstalled it
and instaled mc.tcz.    That wouldn't start either from menu.    On a clean
coreplus 4.5.4 the mc.tcz did install and start from menu and also sudo mc
in the terminal.    So the mc.scm is the culprit.    I've read the mc package
is new so...

thanks for the response.

Not using CorePlus here, but TC 4.5.4 with a minimal number of packages loaded onboot + IceWM.  Wbar is not used.  Cannot reproduce the reported symptoms in this environment.  mc.scm starts successfully from both the "Start" menu and from the right-click-on desktop menu, and works as expected.
