I've come with news of joy! (For some I hope)

My setup:
Virtualbox 4.1.18
tcl 4.5.6
Xorg 7.6
Xfce4
Firefox + flash11

After tweaking and configuring => Grey screen where there should be a youtube video
When searching and looking. The damned but good looking Oxygen-gtk packages caused the grey screen.
Choosing another theme fixed the problem for me.

That's rather interesting...
Perhaps you should consider filing a bug report with Oxygen-gtk ;)

With Adobe having quit general linux releases, and only shipping updates inside Chrome, maybe that's the wakeup call for anyone still using flash?

i just installed tcl4.5 last week to my ibm t40 which took about a total of 2 minutes.  i then connected to wifi in a snap and after that i went to the apps and installed chromium, ossmixer and getflashplayer11 extensions.

all seems to work flawlessly (youtube, Hulu, etc.) so far and will be the main os for this box indefinitely.   ;D

i am a newcomer here to the forums but longtime fan and user of TC since early 2010.

Cheers to all involved with TCL!

Hello .......somebody gave me a version of Adobe Flash 10...compiled for alsa sound

and it works fine on a 240 meg RAM laptop (16 megs used for video)

yes..most familiar sites seemed to work well with the Adobe above.

i mean, it keeps the old laptop working and usable.....

thanks (think it Curaga....who gave me the gift.

yes.

Have enjoyed TCL so much.....its a diamond and the forum always
make that extra effort so thanks

Flash player is proprietary and there is no choice of different sound system versions.
(There is a supporting lib included in OSS)

Most versions of prior releases can be downloaded from adobes archives.

Hello

how many people are you getting reporting adobe flash problems?  (lately....3 weeks)

i assume the forum has 1000's of members some with older hardware right?

i can't get flash going ...any versions of 11.

V.

did you try 11.1.102.55 works on all my systems everything after that is a nogo for about half of my systems other half runs fine with the newest. TCL, RH, SL and ubuntu.

I recommend you reboot after deleting flash11 and then interrupt getFlash.sh when it auto runs, Then run it by hand with version number.

You can just load getFlash11 and manually run it with the version number then reboot.  There is no need to manually remove the previous version.  The script will place the newly created flash11.tcz in the update directory of the tce directory.
