Synaptic?
« on: March 13, 2012, 02:50:04 PM »
Hi there!

I think synaptic would be a great addition to the extensions for tiny core. That is if it can be made to work with TC of course. Just a suggestion ...  :)

Have fun with TC and its extensions,
meo

I think it's a job a too complex, whereas the. deb (once converted) for the majority of cases do not work in tc

It seems to me that AppBrowser is our version of a Synaptic equivalent. Except that it's better.

Hi again!

The only reason that I brought this up is that the original drivers to my printer needs a packet manager of some sort and I thought it might be possible to install them having synaptic loaded.

Have fun out there,

AppBrowser works good and it is fast. 8)

I would like the "search" to work a little better. Like if I want a BASIC IDE of some kind, it would search the info fields and list anything that was an IDE and not just the name of a .tcz file. Or if I wanted a web browser of some kind, it would list all web bowsers that where available in the TC repos. Listing the .tcz files by type would be kind of helpful too, like Desktop, Programming, Web, WIFI drivers, Printer drivers.

Just hoping  ;D

That is what the TAG field is for.
Make sure you are running 4.4.
Change "Search" to "Tags".
