Cloud -> PPR/TCE (on NTFS)

Using TCL for some time, just in cloud mode. Because I want to use bluetooth in an easy way, think I have to switch to ppr/tce mode.

I've read the core concepts a few times, tried to boot as described, but no luck. I'v read some threads, but they don't give me a clue.

Found a thread in the general tc talk which is about a step by step to ppi/tce, but no luck.

Feel a bit stupid now, can't be that difficult, I'm overlooking something, but what?

Please correct me if I'm wrong:
- Looks like there are 2 ways to get things going, the boot-way and the mktclocal tool;
- Using the mktclocal, I can choose a file or a directory, I don't have to mount to use tool (?);
- When using the tool, creating the directory, than mount, I should see the directory;
- I'am using a windows partition, that shouldn't be a problem (?)(installed filesystems.tce, otherwise can't mount).

The mktclocal shows a message, but that fast, I can't read it (somewhere logged?)

If by Windows partition you mean NTFS, the filesystems extension can only read those, not write.
To write to NTFS you need the ntfs-3g extension (it's a completely different project, and it's read speeds are lower than the kernel one's)

yep, it's NTFS, and yes, no write access.

Installed ntfs-3g severall times, several rebootes, but still no write access.

After boot, installing ntfs-3g, cannot mount, that's right?

So I install filesystems and ntfs-3g, can mount, but no write access. Don't think both tce's are needed ....

Could someone please confirm if I have to installe both the tce's,
or that just installing ntfs-3g should work?

Looking at the ntfs-3g site learned me to use the right command ( mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/hda1 /mnt/hda1).

So wasn't aware the control panel doesn't take care of this way of mounting, have to use terminal to mount with ntfs-3g (hope I'm the only who  isn't aware of this    ).

Could use the mktclocal-tool, could detect the tclocal directory.

But still no persistency yet

Reading core concepts again, text says default directory is ' tce', but isn't it ' tcelocal'?

Booting with tce= hda1 and tce=hda1/tcelocal gives error, kernel cannot be found. That's correct, tcelocal directory is still empty.

Looked at f2 and f3 for bootoptions. f3 shows an option to set a home directory on hda1. Think this one is essential to get things going, but is it (not read about it somewhere)?

And, can it happen without mounting that hda1?

Booting with tce=hda1/tclocal,
installing ntfs-3g,
mounting hda1,
in /tclocal the installed tce's can be foud.

Rebooting -> no loading of tce's.

Rebooting with restore=/hda1/tclocal gives:
unknown filesystem hda1, can't mount.

Not what I want, but at least makes sense because of missing ntfs-3g.

Think this journey has come to an end (maybe can work, but will need some programming?).
