Frugal install includes ezremaster, etc.?
« on: December 03, 2011, 09:17:26 AM »
I am a new TinyCore user and love it! So, according to the documenation I've read, I need to use the MultiCore CD for a frugal install. So I booted and did a successful install. Only thing is when I remove the CD and boot into my new install I get the ezmaster, TC_Grub4Dos and TC_Install icons in the Wbar. I don't need those and don't want them slowing down my boot. I supposed I could remove the icons from the Wbar, but aren't the  programs still there and slowing boot time? Why does my new install include these by default? It also includes the WiFi icon, which I am happy of as this is a netbook.

I feel like I am missing something here so please help this TinyCore noob out.  :o

Thanks!

Use AppsAudit.
Either remove them from onboot and/or ondemand, or remove them completely.

We realize the current MultiCore was installing everything.  Major changes are coming in this area for 4.2.
For now I would recommend to view the video on how to use AppsAudit.

Thanks for the responses! So, for those 3 I would remove as follows?...

ezmaster: mkisofs-tools

TC_Grub4Dos: dosfstools, grub4dos

TC_Install: ?

Thanks for the help!

When you remove something in appsaudit, everything under it that's not used by anything else will also be removed.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.
