Hi will
Click on the desktop and go to  SystemTools->MountTool
Hover over each button until you find the one that pops up a little Tinycore message
If it's green, click it, it should turn red
Make a note of the text on the button, that is the device of the CDROM drive (for example: hdd)
Open a terminal and type  eject /dev/(text on the button)

FWIW. If you are using multicore, or an iso (remaster) that deploys a cde directory wherein extensions are mounted directly from the cdrom then the cdrom is in use and cannot be unmounted.
Multicore is not be considered the distrubtion but a sort of "training wheels" for those that do not have normal net access to "get started" with Core.

Thank you Rich for your suggestions but they didn't work, I ought to have told you that I'm using muticore but I wasn't aware that it was that different , I'll
know next time .

Roberts, thanks too for your reply,  had I delayed my rebooting into the CD by 23 or so minutes I could have read your reply , which answers the question !!

'Multicore is not be considered the distribution but a sort of "training wheels" for those that do not have normal net access to "get started" with Core.'
That statement surprised me !
Thanks again both.

I should probably clarify my statement. Multicore contains a plethora of extensions, no one, I repeat no one, would need every extension contained therein. All of the extensions on Multicore are a snapshot of what is in the repository. They are there primarily to help get net access.

The extension versions in the repository will always be equal or better (newer) than the snapshots provided on Multicore. If you have net access then there is no real reason to use Multicore.

Note too, that by deploying a cde does not negate the possibly of having a copy2fs.flg, or copy2fs.lst in the cde directory in which case a cdrom (iso) containing a cde would be capable of unmounting.

Multicore does not use the copy2fs feature as, given the number of extensions, it would be too high a burden on ram usage.
