flash 10/11 and firefox
« on: November 09, 2011, 02:01:40 PM »
Hi,
I've been using my own tce/tcz for firefox and flash for over a year, first with TC 2.1, now with 4.0.2.
It has some benefits over the way firefox and flash are loaded. So I thought I might post it.

When I used TC 2.1 and flash 10 the wiki was still saying it wouldn't work. It worked for me anyway, just like it does now with TC 4.0.2. But I only use flash now and then. It is a very simple solution, so I might have missed something.

Are there any pitfalls I maybe don't know of, any tests I should do before posting it?

Hi rudolf
If your extension contains the flash binaries, you won't be allowed to post it. The binaries are not
redistributable, that's why the current flash extensions are scripts that fetch flash from the Adobe
website.

My extension only contains scripts.
I manually download the firefox and flash I wish to use. The extension uses the ones it finds. No need for changes to the tcz for new versions, different languages, etc. It is also possible to use preferred older versions like 3.6.

No license problem whatsoever.
