I did an HD install, and whenever I fire up network control panel, its not set to DHCP, and everything is blank. So I set it up with static IP and all the appropriate settings, and it saves it to /opt/eth0.sh and adds a link into /opt/bootlocal.sh to call /opt/eth0.sh at boot... ok, groovy, but it doesn't persist, nor does bring up the ethernet card to working.
I tried editing /opt/.filetool.lst and telling it to back up /opt/eth0.sh, and then do a filetool -b... my settings are not saved. I tried using the Backup button in Control panel and telling it hda1, but that did nothing. I tried on shutdown saying "Backup"... and that did nothing.
I can't get this !@#$%^ to save my ethernet card settings or even default to DHCP.
Also, how do I restart the network. I try "network restart" and all that does is bring up the network control panel, which is not what I want.
