tcl 4.x missing|removed extensions

i see too many extensions missing in tcl 4.x repository libv4l-dev is just one of them
i am trying to rebuild extensions i used to maintain but i can not get too far because i am not the only one who should do such a work

also can someone please make a list of missing or removed extensions between 3.x and 4.x repos except kernel modules and development tool chains

the actual version of gimp is 2.7.3.
it's the first version with single-window-mode and other basic features that are known from photoshop...
but perhaps you want to wait for the next stable 2.8.x-version, never mind!?
better have a look to rsnapshot and perhaps pwsafe...

I have stated this 3 or 4 times before, but I guess I need to state it again.  Not only kernel modules, python-2.6, and toolchain extensions, but all that depend on them were not copied over.  Could you imagine what a mess of brokenness it would have been to just copy over every extension and then remove the kernel module and toolchain ones while leaving those that depend on them?  So much easier for most everything to work from the get go than to start out broken.  I spent over 2 solid days hand picking what would get just copied over, along with it's needed deps so we would basically start out with a functioning repo. 

There is stuff left in 3.x that can be tested with the current kernel modules or toolchain items and when reported to work can be copied over.  But with name changes in the kernel and other items, it is still not just a simple copy over. 

I didn't copy over libv4l*.tcz, as it is kernel dependent, someone else did.  Perhaps instead of focusing on updating to the latest and greatest of the higher level apps, those of us that depend on the lower level ones can spend some time identifying and testing what still needs to be tested and copied over.

I copied over libv4l-dev.tcz*, excluding dep file, will get to that later, have to run now.

I believe part of what Jason is saying is that there is sort of a food chain, for example:
Program A depends on B,C, and D.
Program C depends on E and F.
Until E and F are in 4.0 and working, you can't test C in 4.0.
Until B,C and D are in 4.0 and working, you can't test A in 4.0.

First, my tone was more harsh in my last post than warranted, real life has been frustrating and demanding lately, draining me of all my patience. 

Thanks for the list, and I would appreciate anyone who is willing to test things that exist in the 3.x repo that can be moved to 4.x.  The most helpful would be to test the extension on 4.x, then adjust the dep file if needed to be 4.x compatible.  And then send it in like a regular extension.

The next most helpful would be to test and then report here in the forum that an extension works on 4.x.

I had a block of time to copy over the 3.x stuff, but since I have not had the opportunity to go through and see what may can be copied over now that we got the toolchain and kernel stuff in place.  I will try to help focus on this issue in priority to updating my other stuff until we get what we can moved to 4.x.

it's a good infrastructure to connect printers especially in heterogenic networks.

I can one by one look over them, check to see if the kernel modules or toolchain or sound apps are there and adjust the dep file and copy them over.  But it will not happen overnight and some will not be moved over for one reason or another, and some already exist under a different name,

There is a lot of gnome left behind in 3.x, mainly due to Xorg dependency if I recall.  I will start there and try to focus on it tonight to get it copied over.
