DriveReady Seek complete error
« on: September 26, 2011, 03:45:50 PM »
Hi,

I know you're all probably busy with the 4.X builds, but we're having some strange problems with the later 3.5 --> versions, especially with grub throwing the famous error 15, and more interestingly, errors with the handling of optical drives;

The problems are all laid out very simply in the forum thread below; separately, he's tried using a stock multicore ISO, and still gets the same error. Interestingly though, using our old release (microcore 3.5), everything works fine with no error.

I'm at a loss as to what's happening ?

There's only a link to cd errors, but anyway:

- grub 15: can't find files. Not related to us; check your install scripts.
- cd check errors in general: harmless, but yes, should not be shown.
- cd errors in the link: it says bad sector. That's different from the harmless ones, likely a failed burn.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.
