Ye

Thanks

The laptop does have a mini socket of some kind. It looks like mini USB to me.

will check it.  (not sure it's a din type socket that you mention)

Bios has no feature for USB legacy....(only with regard to a Floppy drive legacy support)

ye...just checked and that mini din PS2 port is only available via the
optional "port replicator" board for my laptop.  i don't have that board
and that board normally clips to the rear of the laptop...and contains
several ports and sockets not present on the actual laptop.
So.

hello

do you think Plop bootloader will work RIch?

you burn it to CD and start the laptop by booting to CD.

Plop then starts and gives support to USB devices...like keyboards.
Then you select "boot from CD rom" and take out the plop disc
and put in the tcl Disc.

tcl should then start and maybe have USB keyboard support
for putting in bootcodes?

The Plop Boot Manager is a small program to boot different operating systems. The boot manager has a builtin ide cdrom and usb driver to access those hardware without the help/need of a bios. You can boot the operating systems from harddisk, floppy, CD/DVD or from USB. You can start the boot manager from floppy, CD, network and there are many more ways to start the boot manager. You can install the boot manager on your harddisk. There is no extra partition required for the boot manager.
The Plop Boot Manager was written by Elmar Hanlhofer. If you need help, post it to the forum or send me a message with the contact form.

Hi cast-fish
I've never used Plop, might be worth a try. Having said that, you should start a new thread if you
want to ask more questions about Plop.
