Set TCE Drive

Hello,

Its my first time I used TCL today, but i'm having prob.
I'm trying to set the TCE drive / directory as it says in the FAQ :-

If you forget to boot with this option and are already at the desktop, then from the icon launch bar select Control or the system menu ControlPanel.
Select Set TCE Drive and you will be prompted to select your drive partition for the tce directory.

But in Control Panel i dont see where i can 'Select Set TCE Drive' ? Just others about like Terminal, Mouse tool, mount tool etc?

Please can someone help me?

Run  AppBrowser, there should be a button in the lower right corner labeled  Set.

I press 'Set' but it doesnt prompt / ask for TCE drive? Actually nothing happens when i press it?

If the box to the left of that button is filled in, then your  TCE  path is already set and the button
will be grayed out.

Its that i'm running TCL of a usb stick and would like it so that Opera, sound etc wouldnt have to be downloaded each time. And this is done by setting TCE Drive?

Can it point to USB stick? or does it have to be to a HD?

Do i need to mount the USB first?
Or do a backup to USB before shutting down?

This can be done on a usb stick - remember to use the "waitusb=" boot code (where waitusb=5 for 5 seconds would be typical) to allow the usb stick to be recognised on boot before tc tries to access it.

ok i think its sort of working (i think  )

But this means have to do "tce=xyz" at each boot-up?

Can it be like added to a config file somewhere?

Once you have a  /tce  directory on the USB stick you no longer need that boot code, Tinycore will
find it on it's own. You still need to use the  waitusb  boot code.

you can put bootcodes in the config-file of your bootloader,
there you can take all options of your boot-prompt.
you find all boot-codes in the faq.

Just to reconfirm, the bootcode is "waitusb".
