install xfce4 on TC 3.x
« on: July 28, 2011, 04:45:56 PM »
installed by xfce4 AppBrowser and restarted the computer, the interface loaded xfce with no problems but it seems that the previous interface is behind because it has an error when restarting and also the bottom bar (wbar) keeps appearing.

in /etc/sysconfig/desktop appears xfce

I would like to know if you have to load only the xfce interface without the other in the background.

Are you running tinycore, or microcore?
If you are going to use an alternate window manager, multicore is the better choice.

Furthermore, if you use MC you must have 'wbar.tcz' in your 'onboot.lst'. Simple solution in this case: just remove that extension from that list.

In the more likely case that you use TC and want to avoid that 'wbar' runs, just add the 'noicons' boot code to your boot loader configuration.
