It's your business, but with so much free radio, I don't know why anybody would pay vtuner.

You go to the site, click on stations by format box at top and  pick what you want, BLUES, BIGBAND, OLDIES, ect, click on a station and in windows it plays thru media player.
I dont pay for anything, I guess if you want their player you pay?
How can I set up a player like Windows Media player but in TCL to play these?

As an example, I clicked on a station and downloaded a m3u file. Typing 'xmms m3u19454.m3u' played
 it.

Edit: The ram files work well with RealPlayer, including TV. (you can just download the binaries and run. It requires alsa).    .

I think you downloaded 1 song and then played it?
I was looking to play the station like a radio in the backround while I surf the net.
If I lived in NEW YORK city maybe I would find the music I wanted on a real radio
but here I can not find a BLUES, BIGBAND, or REAL OLDIES stations.
These systems use only 5 watts power, are small out of the way, have no noise
but the radio.

No......that's the link to the radio station.  Click on the site's 'play' button, then 'save to' and it will download the link. Your xmms player will work with m3u format.  RealPlayer works with 'ram' format.

Is there a set up for XMMS or ALSA because I intalled both clicked on a station, then a download happened XMMS flashed on the screen and went away?

On DSL 4 on a system with a sound chip the ALSA covers, (old alsa), I click on the station, then a down load, then XMMS starts and stays on the screen playing the station?

I saved it to ram started XMMS and a box came up saying check setup, something not set up?
When I install ALSA did it find the sound chip or does a setup have to be done?

I think xmms is set to use the oss drivers by default, so you would either need to change the xmms setup or load the appropriate alsa-oss modules.

Run the commands as listed in the info file (ie, alsaconfig, etc...).  and make sure you have required files. Alsa doesn't work on every setup, but there's also OSS.  Both work well in TC.

I just switched over to alsa, and xmms ran without  changing anything.

I am very close to having the system as I want it.
Sound is now working but I am still not to clear on how to get the set up to stay for next power up?
If I dont get that right I would have to config each time?

SYSTEM
64meg Solid State Drive =SSD
128meg ram only 3.8k left
size of small book uses 5w power
TCL boots from SSD which also has the TCZ modules, boots super fast with grub.
radio stations play super with no break up, great volume!
Has OPERA which seems to work just as fast with radio playing or not!

You can use the mount tool from the [control] panel to mount hda1 and/or sda1 if they are not mounted.

Once hda1/sda1 are mounted, you can use a terminal window to list/copy files, eg:

$ cp /path-to-file/file /mnt/hda1/folder
..or you can use an extension like emelfm or emelfm2 which functions somewhat like the windows file manager/explorer
