Anybody have flash9
« on: June 27, 2011, 03:49:47 PM »
Flash version 10 sends my old notebook cpu to 100% when in use..  and slows down the whole darn thing with, as in video playback freezes etc  :(

So anyone have a link to or copy of flash version9 plugin please??

I think I may have found the official site http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html

maybe I'll compile "flashplayer9r277_linux.tar.gz" from the above link unless anyone has a working tcz copy

1) If I recall correctly, you can't distribute Flash without a license (hence getFlash10.tcz)
2) 9.0r289 is current.
3) On my old laptop, even Flash 8/9 would slow my browser to a near crawl.  The nature of the beast.
4) It's already compiled (just not packaged ;D )

Well, I did grab a version 9 of the flash player, packaged it up with squash  but unfortunately Chromium is committed to continuously warn it's users that the plugin is old and prompts to allow it's use, every frustratingly single time you attempt to use it.   chromium used to be my favorite browser, but because of this issue it's gone, it's history....

Since several folks use minefield, I gave it a try.  Am fairly happy there was no popup menus due to an old version of a plugin, however there wsa no sound either.. :(

So currently I'm using Minefield4 with flashplayer10, and am surprised that they work quite well together.
