bootcodes
« on: May 25, 2011, 02:44:27 AM »
Hello

how do i put a bootcode into the config files at desktop level to that it executes
when TV is booting.

tinycore waitusb-10   (is the bootcode)

how do i edit my config files to contain the above bootcode so that the bootcode
does not need to be typed in each time TC boots up.

thanks

VInce.

The bootcode is waitusb=10

You can use the text editor included with tc, which is named "editor".

Open a terminal window, start it with "sudo editor &" and navigate to your boot loader config file to edit it.

Which boot loader are you using?

Did you boot from cd, install to hard disk, install to usb stick, or?

When you boot do you see anything like "grub", "syslinux", "isolinux", "extlinux"?

Hmm - it's a long, long time since I booted from cd.

Apart from remastering a cd, I don't recall that you can alter the boot codes or save additional boot codes to be added on booting from cd.

Have you considered installing tc to your usb stick - it's easy enough to do with the new gui installer in the control panel.

Many people see what is. Some people see what can be, and make a difference.
