gs.tcz in repo is from is 7.05.6 from compiled on December 1999. Latest version I found is 8.15.4 at

http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/view/6.3/pst/espgs.html

BTW, there is a typo in .info file. It is not eps but esp :)

you could try the ghostscript extension
