USR5410 wireless LAN PC-card
« on: March 23, 2009, 09:22:35 AM »
Good morning...

I'm trying to setup a laptop for primarily internet access so I wanted to try TCL because I wanted to get the fastest "ready to browse" installation possible.

But the wireless card I have for the laptop is a USR 5410, which I believe uses the TI acx chipset.  And there seems to be some noise about the lack of proper support for this chipset in Linux.

I was wondering if anyone has this card working in a TCL installation (with WPA-PSK)?

The drivers are here http://sourceforge.net/projects/acx100/ but the project appears a bit stale.

I understand I could also use the NDIS drivers, but do those work with TCL?

Thanks,
Headed for the second star to the right and straight on 'til morning...

I don't see why wouldn't it work.  You'll probably want to grab the compiletc extension if you want to try it out.

If the project looks stale, it could be that the code is stable :P
