RipperX Crashes
« on: December 10, 2010, 12:59:36 AM »
TC v 3.3, all updates applied, no missing dependencies.

RipperX starts OK, opened in aterm to see messages.  Choosing any tab in Config shuts down the app with a message in aterm:
Code: [Select]
ripperX: symbol lookup error: /usr/local/lib/libgdk-1.2.so.0: undefined symbol: XShapeCombineMask

seems to need rebuilding against gtk2 :-/

This is unfortunate as there is already a good standalone GTK2 ripper in the TC3 repo.

Asunder weighs in at a total of 7.32MB including deps
RipperX is much less at a total of 1.01MB including deps.

If there is a way to make it work without going to GTK2 there may be a worthwhile saving in terms of deps.

Gtk1 versions of apps will still be supported when possible as they are a good fit for those who like smaller packages.

A rebuild of Ripperx fixes the crash, and I will aim to have it packaged by tomorrow.

Also, I will rename this extension ripperx-gtk1.tcz and perhaps also make a ripperx.tcz extension that is the latest version and built against gtk2 for those who like ripperx but favor a gtk2 environment.
